My Story

I’m Pamela Sue - Pam for short - and P.S. Alterations is the culmination of a lifetime of craftsmanship.

Sewing is more than a skill for me; it's a legacy. I picked up my first needle and thread at age five, learning under three generations of women who came before me, and grew my craft into a professional calling. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Costume Design from Western Illinois University in 1982, and soon after launched what would become the business you see today - P.S. Alterations.

Sewing allowed me to keep growing my business from home well into the 90's - all while single-parenting a newborn, pouring love into every project along the way. From my daughter's baby blankets, to handmade Halloween costumes, to doing the alterations on her wedding dress - eventually sewing baby clothes and costumes for her child - my grandson.

Today, I bring that history and expertise to my clients here in Austin, specializing in everything from simple alterations and repairs, to fully custom designs - ensuring that every stitch tells your story.
